Red Road Phase Three FY20 Project


Meeting Date and Time: Monday July 15, 2019 at 6:00 pm in Middletown Fire Station, Community Room, 239 Wyatt Rd., Middletown, RI.


Roads included: Acacia Drive, Ellen Rd. (top course), Peckham Avenue, Perry Avenue, Reservoir Road, Rosedale Court, Third Beach Road, Turner Road, William Drive & Underwood Lane and a replacement sidewalk will be installed along Turner Road and Green End Avenue.

At this meeting, town officials and our contractor will on hand to explain the project scope, duration, and impacts to traffic, access, and deliveries. Please plan on attending and sharing your questions, concerns or any suggestions you may have. We also would like to know if you have any special needs such as moving or special events that will require coordination with the contractor.

Town Engineer Warren Hall, Public Works Director Tom O’Loughlin and East Coast Construction, will be there to answer questions and address concerns you may have.

This is a road paving project; the road will be temporarily patched at the end of each week.  A new gravel base and, new 2-1/2” binder course will be installed this summer and early fall (2019), the 1-1/2” finish asphalt surface will be installed in spring 2020. Preliminary work is expected to begin the week of July 15, 2019.

All services, including police, fire, rescue, waste pick up, deliveries, and mail, will be maintained throughout the project. You will be able to access your property and/or driveway at all times except during construction tasks requiring work across your driveway.

Prior to the placement of asphalt you will be notified 24 hours in advance (paper notice at house) that the roadway will be inaccessible for a 2 – 4 hour period. We will provide alternative parking locations for all properties as needed
